Bristlecone Pine

Bristlecone Pine Forest, Spring 1999. These amazing trees are the oldest living single organism plant. The oldest one known topping out in the five thousand year range. They can survive the harsh 12,000 foot elevation environment with just a single thread of life traveling up through the heart of their trunk for years. Such endurance. True life. To place my hand on a living thing that stood in that exact spot, growing ever so slightly, while the Pyramids were being built... wow.
